Cressie May Hoopes, 93, of Salem passed away peacefully on March 27,2025 surrounded by her loving family. Cressie was born on November 24, 1931 in Alliance to William H. and Ehrma (Wolfe) Wharton. She was the organist at multiple churches, with Beechwood United Methodist Church, being her last, retiring after 70 years. Cressie was a member of Eastern Star (North Canton Legacy #596), Farm Bureau of Columbiana County and the Duo Decum Club. She enjoyed baking, canning and spending time with family and friends.Cressie is survived by her children Mark(Cathy) Hoopes of Beloit, Monte(Kathy) Hoopes of Alliance, Marsha(Rex) Johnson of Lehigh Acres FL., Diane(George) Banar of Sumter,SC. and Laura Lee(David) Bianco of Salem.
