NORTH JACKSON - Johanne F. "Jo" Edel, 88, passed away peacefully, Saturday evening, March 8, 2025 at Hospice House surrounded by the love of her family.
Johanne was born October 1, 1936, in Youngstown, a daughter of the late William and Diane Marsch Priore and was a lifelong area resident. She was a proud graduate of Chaney High School and attended Youngstown University. Jo dedicated 30 years of her career as an accountant for William DePiore CPA before retiring in 1986. She later worked as a bookkeeper at Country Gardens and continued there until 2004.
Mrs. Edel was a devoted member of Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, St. James Church in North Jackson. She served on the finance committee and as the secretary of Parish Council. Jo also led St. James Catholic Charities for three years, giving generously of her time and talents to her church community.
Active in many organizations, Jo was a member of the Reserve Air Force Officers Ladies Auxiliary and a trustee of the Western Reserve Villa
